About us
Tradition and quality, the authentic taste of Tuscan olive oil Loretta Bertei
Olio Loretta Bertei comes from an ancient family tradition, rooted in the picturesque village of San Lorenzo di Suvereto since the early 19th century.
Our family-run farm is distinguished by its unique strengths that give our oil its exceptional character.
Family half of French origin. Olive groves planted by Amedeo Bertei (1880-1971) and his father in the early 1900s replaced all the vines destroyed by phylloxera at the end of the 19th century. Hundreds of olive trees were planted on the hills and plains. The land bordered on the famous castle and summer residence of Elisa Bonaparte, princess of Lucca and Piombino married to the noble Baciocchi of Lucca. This is why it was renamed the Castello della Baciocca . From then until now, the Bertei family has always produced extra virgin olive oil. The company is now managed by Raffaele TRASSINELLI, son of Loretta Bertei and great grandson of Amedeo.
Our olive groves are home to four typical Tuscan varieties: Moraiolo, Frantoio, Pendolino and Leccino. The olive harvest is an art handed down from generation to generation, performed with care and dedication, guaranteeing a high quality product.
Our commitment to freshness and purity is evident from the harvest, with the olives being carefully selected by hand and transported daily to the oil mill. This process ensures that our oil retains a high content of vitamins and valuable antioxidants.
Olio Loretta Bertei is distinguished by its unique sensory profile. Our oil has a delicious fruitiness, enriched by aromas of artichoke, fresh grass and almonds. The pleasant combination of bitterness and spiciness typical of Tuscan oil is the distinctive signature that makes our product authentic and irresistible for lovers of high quality oil. Experience tradition and passion in our Olio Loretta Bertei, an excellence that has lasted for generations.
